Farm Hippie loves to reflect on the accomplishments of its vendors. We celebrate our vendors’ hard work every day, but we especially love to celebrate publicly when we announce our Vendor of the Month! This month’s nominee was chosen for their superior product and the offerings they continue to continually share with their customers. Congratulations to Owasso Sweets, one of our favorite gluten-free bakers!
“We started Owasso Sweets in July 2022. I had been baking for friends, family, and coworkers for years. I’ve always loved festivals, fairs, and craft events, but there was rarely anything for me to eat. I started thinking I can’t be the only one. One event turned into 2, then 5, and then it quickly started getting away from me – in a good way!
I love connecting with people. I love offering food choices that some thought they couldn’t have anymore. I love hearing their stories. They inspire me and my menu. The most rewarding part of working with my community is educating people we meet on alternatives to gluten flours. Most people assume gluten-free must have nuts or must have a strange texture. A lot of people think they have to give up food they love or buy separately for the family that isn’t gluten-free. We’re trying to prove gluten-free doesn’t have to taste gluten-free. “
