This month’s nominee for Farm Hippie’s Vendor the Month is a spectacular vendor who is the epitome of our mission here at Farm Hippie. Congratulations to Heirloom Acres, your provider of yogurt, farmer’s fromage cheese, kombucha, blended salts, sugars, and seasonings, as well as seasonal produce, and flower bouquets. Whew! She does it all, and does it all right!

Read here for an introduction to Heirloom Acres and the mission behind the product, and be sure to stop by to support her!

1) What do you love most about what you get to do with your business?
I love the diversity of the work that I do.  There are so many different aspects to my business, from raising animals, growing food, flowers, and more to experimenting with new food products and flavors.  It’s never boring around here!

2) What do you find to be the most rewarding part of working with your local community?
It’s so rewarding to hear from my customers/followers that they have been inspired to start homesteading because of me.  One of my main goals starting out was to help bring awareness to the fact that anyone with a backyard can grow their own food, and that our community will be a better place if more people shift from a ‘consumer mentality’ to a ‘producer mentality.’

3) Tell us a little more about your business.
I feel like most people know us for our food/drink products like kombucha, yogurt, and cheese, but we do so much more than that! The Heirloom Acre is a micro-farm that specializes in regenerative agriculture.  That means no tilling, beyond organic gardening methods, pollinator support, and free-ranging animals. I believe in cultivating beauty everywhere that we can, which is why we grow tons of flowers, and are continually converting traditional lawn space into bountiful gardens.  You can see more about what we do at theheirloomacre.com
