Farm Hippie is home to nearly 170 vendors, so when we get to celebrate the hard work that goes into small business, we don’t take that lightly! Our vendors work tirelessly behind the scenes, and when they bring their products to the storefront, all the hard work has already been done. We are their finish line for us to then pick it up and complete the cycle. Because we understand what goes into the behind-the-scenes work, we find it important to give a little token of acknowledgment when it’s due. That’s why month after month we give a shoutout to deserving vendors with our Farm Hippie Vendor of the Month program. This month’s nominee is a queen bee herself, Ms. Lori Beth with Okie Bee. Her work is endless, and for that, we commend her tremendously! Please help us further introduce Lori Beth:
What do you love most about what you get to do with your business?
It is hard to pick just one thing but I enjoy being outside with the bees. Watching them, listening to them, listening to music with them, and following an old tradition of “telling the bees”.
What do you find to be the most rewarding part of working with your local community?
Answering people’s questions about honey bees and other bee species to correct inaccuracies they learned from movies and the internet. I love giving them a piece of information to impress their friends with their honey bee knowledge.
Tell us a little more about your business.
I am a sole proprietor and sole employee, my mother is a volunteer and Chief Labeling Officer. Using and selling products that are not produced in a lab is important to me and always attracts questions from a wide range of people. I love the “art and science” of making different products from the hive and working with the bees, they are fascinating creatures.
Thank you, Lori Beth, for your partnership. We are honored to have you with us at Farm Hippie. And thank you, customers, for supporting her inside Farm Hippie and beyond! Be sure to go show her Facebook some love!
